You’ll go gaga for Baba. The large, sweet, red berries are firm and full of flavor, perfect for fresh eating, jams, jellies, and baking. Produces a large crop in early summer, followed by a smaller fall crop. Berries grow on second-year canes, which should be supported on a trellis. An excellent selection for gardeners in the southern US where northern varieties struggle. Thrives in regions with hot summers and mild winters, including Southern California, the Gulf Coast, and up to Virginia. Performs best in warm, dry areas with regular irrigation, and benefits from afternoon shade in the hottest climates. Hardy in zones 6-10.
